Played the Thistle Grand Hotel last Saturday as a four piece - sans lead guitarist. Late, late notice - about a day and a half, meant that preparation time was v limited and we had only a very rough idea of what we were going to play! Well, it's good to take a chance and we're so glad we did. We had a blast! ;D Another great venue and another black tie do. Must get round to getting my suit dry cleaned... This was a charity gig for CLIC, entitled the Mongolia Rally Charity Ball. For full details of the Mongolia Rally and team 'Ninja Security'(!), click mongolia.charityrallies.org/news/mongolia-charity-rally-ball-may-2010 or check out their Facebook page: zh-hk.facebook.com/pages/Ninja-Security-Mongolia-Charity-Rally-2010/309216002689. Brilliant stuff and I hope it all goes to plan! Good luck guys! What can I say? The event was very well organised, a meal followed by a raffle and auction, a lot of money raised and a wonderful audience. One of our very best shows, too. Even without Martin's guitar skills I think we rose to the occasion and rocked the place, certainly ourselves, to the point of exhaustion! We played 30 plus songs, if memory serves, and 9 of those were encores . I think the audience and us were in a competition to see who collapsed first! Fabulous stuff - we all enjoyed it immensely and hope everyone had a great time (it looked like it!). Again, good luck to the boys in Mongolia (you nutters!) and I hope the Red Knight holds up ;D Jon
